Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021

Well that was a year and a half wasn't it! Running has been a bit of a saviour over the past 9 months for me. When it's all felt a bit overwhelming, running has been there. When I've needed some headspace, running has been there too. When I needed to grieve, running was a way… Continue reading Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021

October 2020 Round Up

It's been a while since I last blogged so a round up seemed like a great way to get back into it. October has included exploring new routes, trail runs, hills, speed sessions and easy runs. I've really enjoyed the variety and it's definitely been good for the soul. October has definitely a month of… Continue reading October 2020 Round Up

Miles for Mind – round up

May 31, 2020May 31, 2020 Samantha Haines2 Comments

Today is the last day of May and the end of Miles for Mind for another year. I pledged to run 50 miles this year and ended up covering 64 miles, which I'm so pleased with. The extra 14 miles will go into a pot to help others who weren't able to complete their miles.… Continue reading Miles for Mind – round up

Lockdown and Mum guilt

May 30, 2020May 29, 2020 Samantha HainesLeave a comment

Lockdown for most of us hasn't been bed of roses. Most of us have struggled in some way, shape or form but as the changes to lockdown start to unfold I can't help but feel a little sad for my children, particularly Big who is five (and half as he regularly reminds us). I feel… Continue reading Lockdown and Mum guilt

Happy Thursday everyone. It's beautiful out there today. This was my first run post marathon, it look a couple of miles to find my stride but I felt comfortable by the end, which is great news.
Today was supposed to be a strength training day but after my marathon on Sunday I switched it out for Runner's Yoga with @adrienelouise. I did do my glute exercises though, with a little support from the littlest one, who decided he wanted a horse ride mid exercise 🤦‍♀️😂.
And just like that I ran a marathon...I didn't even get a medal as it was a training run but I was treated to some amazing views and had some lovely company from @brimstagramz and @gruby.b (and also Mark for waiting fir me to arrive).
I had two running buddies this morning. I offered them a chance to run with me as I was only running two miles ahead of my marathon run tomorrow and both said they wanted to come. I'm not sure they enjoyed the whole experience but when I asked them how they felt at the end they both said they were happy and you could see it in their faces.
