Week 12 round up – it’s been a bumpy week

March 28, 2021March 28, 2021 Samantha HainesLeave a comment

It's been a bit of a mixed bag this week, some of my runs I've come away from feeling like I've achieved loads and other's I've found much harder. I'm wondering if I'm doing too much on my rest days. On Friday I walked 6 miles, I wasn't walking fast but I wonder if its… Continue reading Week 12 round up – it’s been a bumpy week

Half way point round up

And just like that I've reached the end of week 11 on my plan and I'm half way to race day! It got me thinking about whether my plan was right for me and whether I'd be race ready and more importantly race fit. The last thing I want to do is over train and… Continue reading Half way point round up

On the struggle bus

For the first time since starting my ultra training I'm on the struggle bus. Even when I've been aware of my niggles on a run previously I've not felt like it's been that much of a mental battle to keep going. This weekend it's definitely been hard to keep puttingone foot in front of the… Continue reading On the struggle bus

Time to make some changes

I'm almost at the half way point in my training plan and after the biggest weekend I've ever had in terms of miles I'm going back to the drawing board. My feet are still a little sore on top and I've started to wonder whether I am overloading in terms of training and if I'd… Continue reading Time to make some changes

Happy Thursday everyone. It's beautiful out there today. This was my first run post marathon, it look a couple of miles to find my stride but I felt comfortable by the end, which is great news.
Today was supposed to be a strength training day but after my marathon on Sunday I switched it out for Runner's Yoga with @adrienelouise. I did do my glute exercises though, with a little support from the littlest one, who decided he wanted a horse ride mid exercise 🤦‍♀️😂.
And just like that I ran a marathon...I didn't even get a medal as it was a training run but I was treated to some amazing views and had some lovely company from @brimstagramz and @gruby.b (and also Mark for waiting fir me to arrive).
I had two running buddies this morning. I offered them a chance to run with me as I was only running two miles ahead of my marathon run tomorrow and both said they wanted to come. I'm not sure they enjoyed the whole experience but when I asked them how they felt at the end they both said they were happy and you could see it in their faces.
