Run Mumma Run…where it all began

Like a lot of people once I truly committed to running I found it quite addictive.  I'd dabbled in running on and off over a number of years before it really stuck with me. Years ago I'd listened to an old housemate talk about running and one evening feeling inspired I tried running with her.… Continue reading Run Mumma Run…where it all began

I've just realised this is my third blog and I've not actually introduced myself properly yet, how very rude of me! Sorry about that. Hi, I'm Sam. I'm English living in Wales, which is neither here nor there most of the time unless the Six Nations is on! I should probably add here that my… Continue reading This is me…

Happy Valentine’s Day

The plan for this site isn't really to share recipes but I couldn't resist sharing this with you. They are perfect to make with children as they are really simple. We made these, actually I should say that my husband made these, for our favours at our wedding nearly seven years ago. It seems crazy… Continue reading Happy Valentine’s Day

We made the most of our annual passes to Techniquest today. If you live in the South Wales/West area it's worth a visit. If you've not heard of it, or have but are wondering whether it's worth going, we'd definitely recommend it, particularly for a wet and rainy day. Techniquest is a hands on science… Continue reading Techniquest

I was a bit unsure how today would feel after yesterday's 18 miles but my legs held out fine. It made so much difference having company. Mine and @gruby.b's Sunday runs have really helped me keep going, plus its always nice to have fun and be in the company of someone who's happy to take silly pictures.
Today I ran up the Garth Mountain. It's the mountain the film 'The Englishman who Went up a Hill but came down a mountain'. Its the furthest I've run to date. Ultra training is definitely in full swing for the VOGUM.
Lungs gasping for air, heart beating hard, legs screaming. Aren't the both they best and worst feelings for runners? In this training block I'm back doing hills again.
Some genuinely very easy miles this morning. I was very careful to take it easy as my ankle was stiff after Sunday but once it was strapped up it was fine and it's fine the rest of the day. The plan said 8 miles but I figured it was best just to do 6 just in case. The last thing I want to do is make it worse.
